During construction, the Project is estimated to generate over 3,178 jobs (person years) state-wide. Regionally, the Project is expected to create 1,652 jobs (person years) over the construction period and support approximately 63 jobs per year during the operation of the facility. Once operational, the Project would provide annual income to host landowners and neighbour benefits to Project neighbours. This additional income allows farmers to diversify income streams to offset environmental impacts such as drought or flood.
The employment benefits extend through the local supply chains to fuel supply, vehicle servicing, uniform suppliers, hotels/motels, B&B’s, cafés, pubs, catering, cleaning companies, tradespersons, tool & equipment suppliers, earth moving and many other businesses.
